Be yourself!

Sitting on top of the boulders which overlooked our house was the perfect place to be for Mr Midnight and Sir Winston, especially on warm, sunny days.

It´s kind of nice that the weather angels have made an effort today and warmed up our favourite sitting place.

I´m most grateful. It´s a wonderful view from up here and it´s even more special when the weather angels are in a good mood.

Look who´s leaving our neighbours house.  Mr Dog is taking his human for a walk again.

I think it´s the other way around Mr Midnight. Doggies love obeying human beings and they often copy  their masters actions.

But I was under the strong impression that human beings loved copying one another. Surely Mr Dog hasn´t fallen so low as to blindly follow instruction from the humans. I must be very naive because I believed it to be the other way around.

Doggies can´t help it Mr Midnight. They wish to be loved properly and will do almost anything to please their masters.

I think he´s a happy dog though.

Well thank goodness I´m a cat!

I´m not having any of that “blind obedience” stuff. Surely souls are supposed to go through life with their own free will. That´s what my cat intuition informs me.

Which is probably why so many people dislike cats Mr Midnight.

Although lots of human beings adore us,  many seem to dislike us.

I thought those who dislike cats were simply afraid of us.

Oh no no. I don´t think that´s right Mr M.

I believe it has more to do with the fact that some human beings need to have control over other souls and because it is not in our cat nature to be as obedient as Mr Dog next door, they find our behaviour unnerving.

But they could learn a thing or two from us cats couldn´t they.

How about trying to learn to let go of things and to go with the flow of life.  That would be a great start.

They either don´t want to let go of things, much preferring to adhere to their past patterns and habits, or they simply cannot let go because of being afraid to do so.

Of course, most human beings would never admit to such a possibility.

Well as long as everybody is happy about being controlled by others it´s fine by me.

As for myself, I´m really thankful that I´m a cat and that I understand the true meaning of the word “freedom”.

I suspect that if being truthful, many human beings are not happy with their current situations but the road to true freedom is a long one. Thank goodness at least some are on their way.

Well `m going to have a little nap now on these wonderful heated boulders. They are really good for preventing  sciatica problems.

I´ll keep you company if you don´t mind. 🙂

Is Your Health Really Important?

The sun was shining and a cool, light westerly breeze stroked the fur of Mr Midnight and Sir Winston as they sat atop the boulders overlooking their kingdom. They often sat upon the boulders when they were in a philosophising mood and today, was one of those days.

(The patch of green Mr Midnight and Sir Winston adore.)

As usual Sir Winston, I can´t make head nor tail of the human psyche.  They are a baffling lot aren´t they.

What are you going on about Mr Midnight?  I must admit, human behaviour is sometimes difficult to get to grips with but I suppose it´s no different than a human trying to fathom out a cats behaviour.

You´re probably correct in your assumption Sir W. but at least we cats do not say things that aren´t true.  We are always true to ourselves and never claim things that are simply not true.

I don´t know what you´re waffling on about Mr Midnight so perhaps you can lend me a paw to understand.

Well, I´ve noticed that among other things, human beings often claim that their health is one the most important things in their lives.

       And what´s wrong with that?

The claim´s not true is it.

I think many must have a dose of that illness that creates fake activity – fake news I think they call it. Faking appears to be the sign-of-the-times.

Can you elaborate a little please?

How can human´s claim that their health is so important while at the same time, they seem to do very little for their health?

They must believe that one becomes ill just out of the blue and that they themselves, have nothing to do with their illness.

I believe that is indeed, the assumption of many human beings.  I feel sorry for them in a way.

He could be wrong, but I`ve heard from Vladimir the Russian Blue pussycat from down the road that human beings are often unconcious of how they treat their bodies.

For example, they seem to always be attached to their mobile gadgets . . . .

. . .  sorry for interrupting but I think they need the gadgets in which to get through life. The things appear to be very addictive – even life-saving.

There could be some truth to what you say Sir W.

Human beings will sadly, often eat their meals in a most unhealthy manner and I´ve heard from Mr Dog next door that their food quality is also not what it should be or what is suggested on the labels of their food.

From my observations, the majority appear to ignore the fact that modern human lifestyles destroy our environment. Human beings often don´t drink enough fluids.  They don´t move about very much, apart from when wheels of some description are underneath their person and they frequently abuse their bodies by denying themselves enough quality sleep.

Quality sleep is something the humans could learn from us pussycats.

Sleeping allows our bodies to recharge for the next day. Without a recharge our energies eventually become exhausted.  That´s when problems start to occur.

One has to feel sorry for the humans doesn´t one.

And that´s why I find their claim about their health being important to be somewhat bizarre.

If a person cannot take time to care for themself properly then who is going to look after them?

The human beings are certainly a baffling species sometimes.

I´m sure they´ll get the hang of how to go through life smoothly eventually.  They just need a little more practice that´s all.

Perhaps the human beings should try to love themselves a little more and then some of their illnesses would perhaps, disappear.

Love is certainly good medicine Mr Midnight.

We both wish you human beings all the very best on your journey of discovery and hope that some of you discover the secret to staying nice and healthy.  It really is up to you which way you decide to go.

Love from Mr Midnight and Sir Winston.  xxx

(C) MAGS June 2017.

I was, I am, and I will be

How much time do you think we´ve got left this time around Sir Winston?

How many times do you think we will be able to smell the green stuff in our kingdom after the wet stuff has fallen upon it;  – 10, 20 or possibly even another 30 times?

I love the smell of rain after it has kissed the grass as well.

“Time” is not important Mr Midnight.

“Time” is a convenient human fabrication and really doesn´t have any importance. There is no such thing as “time” – only the moment.

Well I think just as you do Sir Winston but I am still inquisitive to know about our present soul life.

The life of a soul is never ending.

And how do you know that?

I don´t know Mr Midnight. “Knowing” something suggests you´ve switched your brain on.

I just “feel” that it is so because the heart and soul are connected.

All is one.  All is a circle.  All is in movement.  All is complete.

      Yes, everything is just perfect.

Life is terribly exciting isn´t it Sir W.  All of our souls are always on the go – travelling on their journey of discovery with which to gain experience.

It´s a continual coming and going. What a great honour it is to be a soul – and this time around, the soul of a cute little pussy cat!

I Was, I Am, and I will Be!

Sing out loud!

MM-Avatar       Meeooowww!   oooowww!   wooowww! Meeeoooowwwww!

SW-Avatar       I think i´ll join in Mr Midnight.  Meeoow Meeooww Meeeoooowwwwww!

author-Avatar       What is going off?  You both sound terrible what with your high-toned screeching and meowing racket.

Can you give it a break?

MM-Avatar       Don´t be so cheeky daddy!  We´re both practicing our vocals.  It´s not our problem that you don´t appreciate our vocal-session.

author-Avatar        Is there any particular reason?  Are you going to a party or something?

SW-Avatar       One doesn´t have to have a reason to sing daddy.

MM-Avatar       Although I do wish there was a pawty going off somewhere. I just love the things!

SW-Avatar       Singing is healthy and is good for you. You humans should do it more often. We cats love singing occasionally.

author-Avatar       But we humans do sing quite a lot.

MM-Avatar       But you should try and sing with all you´ve got. You know, make your voice heard!

I was creeping about the grounds of that spooky, old building where all you humans disappear at the end of your lives the other day and I couldn´t help over hear the “singing” in the building. I think you call the songs Christmas songs.

I thought Christmas was a happy celebration of that Jesus chappie.

author-Avatar      It is.  We love clebebrating the birth of Jesus.

MM-Avatar       Well you could have fooled me!

The only sounds I heard were monotone sounds which were “sang” in a rather dull fashion. The singing I heard was just as atrocious as our cat attempts at singing.

I thought celebrations were to be rejoiced.

author-Avatar       For some strange reason many of us humans seem to be frightened about singing in public.

SW-Avatar       Perhaps some of you are frightend of hearing your own voice.

MM-Avatar       Well I was aware that many humans are afraid to speak out their own truth but singing at a celebration should be easy peasy pudding and pie.

Humans don´t seem to have a problem when singing at your football matches.

SW-Avatar       That´s probably because at football matches, one “feels” the emotion within ones heart.

Although many people are religious perhaps they don´t feel the “true” faith within their hearts; thus making it difficult to “praise the lord” and sing out with fervour.

I could be wrong though, although I do know that singing is healthy.

It´s good for the brain and can enhance mental awareness, concentration and memory.

MM-Avatar       One can develop healthier breathing patterns which can help cope with various lung dieseases.

author-Avatar       Singing has also been proved to boost our immune system.

SW-Avatar       It´s a good work out. You´ll work out your lungs, improve circulation and tone your abdominal muscles.

MM-Avatar       Your feelings of safety and confidence will improve when singing in a group. We cats especially love singing in groups.

author-Avatar       Your posture will get straighter and you´ll gradually look more confident.

SW-Avatar       You´ll sleep better as a result of not being so stressed. This is another reason we cats love singing.

MM-Avatar       Singing releases endorphins, which make you feel instantly happier.

SW-Avatar       So the benefits of singing and raising your voice are very beneficial to your wellbeing.

MM-Avatar       Just let it all go and go with the flow. Sing out loud and raise your voice!

You all have something to say so look after yourself properly and just get it out of you!!

Merry Christmas to you all!

MM-Avatar  SW-Avatar  author-Avatar   We want to thank all those lovely people out there who have helped support us this past year.

SW-Avatar       Thank you very much.

I suspect it wasn´t always easy reading our posts because we love to write meaningful things about life and we realise we´re not always much help.

MM-Avatar        If you manage to stick around next year, we´ll try and get better. Us cats are not keen on “giving-up”.

I also wish to purrsonally wish you all a Merry Christmas, whatever that is, and a Happy New Year 2017!

author-Avatar       You must have forgotten, again, Mr Midnight.

I`ve told you so many times that Christmas is a human, Christian festival which celebrates the birth of Jesus.

Gifts are exchanged and the message about  “Peace on Earth” is spread.

MM-Avatar       Peace on Earth?

From what I´ve seen, there´s not much evidence about “peace on earth” taking place.

Are you sure your Christmas thingy is working properly.

SW-Avatar       The good people are trying there hardest Mr Midnight.  These things take time.

Anyway, I thought you liked a good party?

MM-Avatar       I´m always up for a Pawty!

Are we also allowed to celebrate this guy´s birthday?

If so, let´s Paaaawwwwty !!!!!!!

author-Avatar       My two furry friends wanted to spread a bit of christmas cheer so they have decided to post a Youtube video from their friends.

Enjoy and once again, all the best wishes for the coming New Year!

Taking your own path in life.

MM-Avatar       Look at this funny photo I found on daddy´s computer. I haven´t a clue as to what the poor fellow is up to.

cat1

SW-Avatar       He looks really spaced out but also kind of cute.   I don´t know what a rollercoaster is so I´ll find out what daddy says.

author-Avatar       A rollercoaster is a fair ground attraction which propels people up and down along a railway track.

MM-Avatar       But why do people need to go up and down daddy?

From my observations you people are often up and down and without having to use a  railway track.

author-Avatar       Although not my cup of tea, rollercoasters are supposed  to be a lot of fun. They travel up and down at great speed, often looping the loop and going round tight bends, making people scream their heads off at the same time.

MM-Avatar       I don´t wish to be rude but I thought human beings were loopy enough without having to go round the bend as well.  A rollercoaster seems to be a strange contraption.

SW-Avatar       As oppose to us cats, a human  life seems to always be full of ups and downs. It´s no wonder some of you wish to emphasise this fact by building your rollercoaster thingeymybobs.

MM-Avatar       Look here; cop your eyes on this photo.

cat2

This pussy cat´s doing exactly what a normal cat should be doing. It´s enjoying life on the level – without ups and downs.  A cats life is always on the upside of life and usually a cat will stick to enjoying life on the “ups” of life.  That´s why we are cats.

Life is to be enjoyed and its what one makes out of life that matters.  We create our own lives and most of us would sooner stick to living life to the full  without all those “downs of life” if you don´t mind.

SW-Avatar       I think “Monorail cat” looks quite funny.

author-Avatar       And if you two would kindly observe, your funny “monorail cat” also needs a track, albeit a flat track, with which to have fun.  The rollercoaster track goes up and down and Mr Monorail here decides to travel on the level.

MM-Avatar       I didn´t say one shouldn´t have a path (or track) in life. We all need to know where we are heading. You humans seem to enjoy adventure, with a little pain tied in getting to wherever you´re going, but we cats prefurr to travel through life at a much more sedate pace.

The path in life is the same direction for all but the journey is not necessarily the same.

SW-Avatar       Whatever path we decide to take in life it will always be the correct one, whatever the outcome.

author-Avatar       And I believe that if we all took the same path life wouldn´t be life without all those “ups and downs”.

It is what we make out of our discoveries and experiences which count.

How to stop complaining, grumbling and moaning.

Mr Midnight had started  wearing a purple latex band around one of his legs and he was now proudly parading around the garden so that Sir Winston could see it.

SW-Avatar       What have you got tied to your leg Mr Midnight? It looks quite funny.

MM-Avatar       It´s a new therapy I´m practicing.

As you already know, I`m not too keen on bands around cats necks and things like that, even though they sometimes have little bells attached to them, but I wanted to start this therapy thing I read about.

SW-Avatar       But why the colourful band?

Does it help your blood pressure or something?

MM-Avatar       In a way, I suppose it does help my blood pressure Sir W.

You´re aware that I have a tendency to moan about things a lot, especially what the humans manage to do to our planet, and so the band helps me to cool down a little.

SW-Avatar       I`m not quite with you Mr Midnight.

Can you explain yourself a little better?

MM-Avatar       The other day I was lolling about, killing 8 or 10 hours before daddy usually makes the evening meal, when I happened to notice a book by daddy´s bedside.  I didn´t have much else to do so before I had another little nap I thought I would try and read a few words of it.

SW-Avatar       I´m not quite sure you should have been in daddy´s bedroom Mr Midnight. You know what a fuddy duddy he is about us cats going into his sleeping quarters.

MM-Avatar       Well if you don´t tell him I won´t.

SW-Avatar       Won´t he think it odd that you´re wearing a band around your leg, especially if its been quoted in his book?

MM-Avatar       I´ll cross that bridge when I get to it.  Anyway, don´t you want to know what the book is all about?

SW-Avatar       Oh yes, please do go on.

MM-Avatar       The book is called “A Complaint Free World” from a Mr Will Bowen and is about how to stop complaining and to live the life you always wanted.

Basically, it´s a 21 day challenge and you know how much I love challenges.

SW-Avatar       Too right Mr M.

MM-Avatar       It´s all about creating a positive lifestyle.

Moaning and complaining about things attracts negative energy and negative energy blocks the body, even attracting and reinforcing our negativity which in the long run, often creates all sorts of illness.

Although most of us are not aware, we all complain quite a lot – even us cats!

So according to the book,  everytime I moan, complain, nag or groan I have to swap my leg band onto the other leg with the goal of not swapping the band for 21 days!

Everytime I swap the band it makes me aware that I´m complaining again.

Obviously, human beings swap their band from wrist to wrist.

Because these strap things are not really made for cats I have to cheat a little sometimes. I hope Mr Bowen is alright with that. If I moan or complain about something then I catch myself moaning and will therefore moan a second time so that I may keep my band on the same leg! I think the main idea is that I´m conscious of the fact I´m moaning.

SW-Avatar       So if we can get rid of our complaining then we help our bodies to detox from negativity in which to become happy again.  It sounds like a great idea and a lot of fun is involved.

MM-Avatar       Here´s the website incase any of you out there happens to be interested:-

www.acomplaintfreeworld.org/

or

http://www.willbowen.com  (As I´ve already said, he´s the chappie who set the whole thing in motion).

SW-Avatar       It looks like I´ve got to go and get one of those bands. They are a pretty colour aren´t they.

It´s up to you folks. Do you want to live a happy life or not?

If you ask me, you´ve nothing to lose.

All our love from Mr Midnight and Sir Winston.
