Being a thankful cat.

DSCN0663       I´m very, very thankful for my present life Sir Winston. Up until now it´s turned out quite hunky dory.

DSCN0664       I´ll second you on that Mr Midnight.  We had a bit of a dodgy start though, what with that animal shelter nightmare thing,  but it seems we have chosen a lovely experience in this life now that daddy has found us.

DSCN0673       Oh, I can just remember the shelter. The humans tried to be nice to us but being cooped up with all those other poor souls wasn´t really my bowl of milk.  Still, as you say, we obviously chose to have that experience.

SW-Avatar       Life can be so rewarding can´t it.

MM-Avatar       You bet Sir W.

I love the way the air angels stroke my fur when I´m in the green kingdom of ours.

SW-Avatar       And I love to breathe the air angels deep into my body.  The sweet smell and taste of the air angels is so comforting and rejuvenating.

MM-Avatar       Daddy feeds us and he seems to love stroking our fur.

SW-Avatar       That´s alright with me Mr Midnight, and  in return we give him our love.  That´s how things are suppossed to be.

Giving and taking.

What a beautiful planet we live on.

MM-Avatar       The humans seem to be struggling with our planet – you know, their habitual goings on appear to be wrecking the place.

SW-Avatar       And they appear to be wrecking themselves in the process.

It must be a nautral human thing to want to destroy things. After all, if observing their past track record they´ve had enough practice at destroying things.

Such a shame, such a waste.  You´d think they´d be a bit smarter than they are wouldn´t you.

MM-Avatar       Our kingdom and surrounding natural environment doesn´t seem to have a problem with the humans devastating attitude towards our planet.  Nature just changes its course.  It´s the poor humans who have problems with change.

Modern humans seem to always be rushing about and although none of them would admit it, they love living their lives in fear.

SW-Avatar       Which must be why most of them have some sort of illness. Poor souls,  they really seem to be struggling.  Still, although being unconscious to them,  it´s obviously what they wanted to experience in this life. Pain and suffering – that´s not a way for us cats to go.

However, there must be still a few wise humans because one of them once said, “You can´t change the past but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future”.

MM-Avatar       They obviously knew what they were talking about.  That´s such a wise message  – and from a human as well!  😉

SW-Avatar       Well, everybody is on their path and must follow their star. Step by step, some of them will get wiser I´m sure.

MM-Avatar       Lets just continue to be thankful for the magic of what we´ve got.  Our companionship, health and best of all, love of ALL THINGS.

Give me a high-five Sir W!!!!

Here´s my paw  . . . . . DSCN0621

The changing weather

We´ve been having quite a bit of snow these last few weeks, haven´t we.

I´m not too keen on all that white stuff. It´s so terribly cold underfoot.

I´m quite fond of it myself. It looks so very pretty and it appears that nature slows down, or even falls into a deep sleep. I love sleeping.

I suspect you don`t mind the white stuff because you don´t have to shift it all in the morning, Sir Winston. That´s daddy´s job.

Snow is all part and parcel of living in the Black Forest in winter but to tell you the truth, my British roots prefer a life without all this snow.

Why do they make it all white daddy?  Is it because they want to make our world appear pretty again?

“They” make it snow simply because that´s how our weather system works Mr Midnight. When at the right temperature, moisture in the air turns into snow.

Weather systems are changing all the time Mr Midnight. I find that things are getting more dramatic as the years go by.

That must be because of the humans. They love faffing about with everything and one reaps what one sows.

Some of us humans believe the changing weather has nothing to do with human existence.

You could have fooled me!  🙂

I believe it has something to do with the natural behaviour of our planet and catylistic attitudes and lifestyles of the human race.

I think that most of us humans are aware that climate change is moving at a rapid pace, but because we are humans, the individual believes that he/she cannot do anything about it.

If applying such a mentality, it becomes obvious that our futures are going to change quicker than most of us want to believe.

Us cats just look after ourselves. I thought you humans were a little cleverer than our cat philosophy.

If you all made a slight effort to rectify your lifestyles then future generations would also have a chance to enjoy this wonderful planet.

I´ll not give up. I still have hope.

Some of us humans are getting to grips with the climate situation and although it´s a hard and difficult path, I do believe we will get there in the end. Afterall, anything with a value is worth fighting for.

The Key(s) to life – from a pussycats point of view!

I believe that the key to life is to discover your balance; and I don´t mean when trying to see how difficult it is to balance when walking along the garden fence.

There are in fact, four main keys, with a central core key in the middle.  I believe that if one manages to use those keys correctly in life then one will be free of illness and be satisfied, hence being able to enjoy life to its full capacity.

Well, that´s what life is supposed to be all about I think. Enjoyment, contentment and satisfaction.

Can you name the four keys and core key required for a meaningful life Mr Midnight?

       Easy peasy.

The first key is to eat “proper” food; not the stuff food companies want you to eat.

The second is to drink enough “proper” fluids.

The third is to move about as much as possible.

And the fourth is to get enough sleep with which to recharge the old batteries.

These four keys surround the main, core key, which happens to be the key called “Love”. I do mean, “proper, genuine” love and not the love where one just loves ones family and immediate friends.

I must admit, it really is a continual life journey to be able to master the art of true love. I mean, because of our natural instincts, we often kill other small little beings.  It´s not very nice is it, but I can´t seem to help myself. True love means one respects ALL things. Still, at least I´m conscious of the fact and am working on it.

The humans are exactly the same. The poor dears often believe they have genuine love within themselves and then they will go and eat us animals. Thank goodness they don´t eat pussycats in our neck of the woods. Still, I suppose understanding what “true love” is all about is a matter of perception.

If one manages to discover ones own balance in life, allowing ones compass to guide oneself, then it will become more difficult to get ill or experience tragic circumstances.

Precisely, one must discover ones own balance and believe in oneself.

If one of the keys, or compass points, is misaligned then illness will eventually creep into ones life.

I sometimes have a problem with my right eye, if being truthful, perhaps because there are some things I don´t want to see in life.

That´s probably why many humans do not hear so well. There are things in life which they do not want to hear. The body is a clever “machine” and will help sort out your problems.

The body says; your wish is my command and hey presto – if one cannot look at some areas of life the body helps you and makes your vision become more blurred, as in my case

I believe that it is the same with all illnesses. Contrary to popular belief and what Governments and the pharmaceutical industry wish to make us all believe, illness does not just come out of the blue.

If we avoid maintaining our bodies then our bodies will eventually, fall to pieces. The choice is ours.

I think the magic word is called “self-responsibility” Sir Winston.

It´s the same with next door neighbours dog. He can´t hardly walk but he must keep on the move. Perhaps he should stay put sometimes because there is something waiting for him to discover. His body helps him by gradually “making” him stay put. A shame the outcome has to be so tragic.

I suppose we are all afraid of looking at the real truth. Indeed, fear is the main motivator for illness. Most illnesses appear because of some deep-rooted fear somewhere or another.

Although because I am a cat and cannot understand it all, I can recommend a small book by Louise Hay which is called “Heal your Body”. It may help some of you folks discover the proper key for your own journey.

And although it is rather trying sometimes, please try and align your compass. You´ll feel a better person if you can.

With love from Sir Winston and myself, Mr Midnight.

Individualism, oddities and errors.

A wet Sunday afternoon and with nothing much else to do today, Mr Midnight, Sir Winston and myself decided that we would spend an hour or two in the “hobby room” and sort through a pile of my old postage stamps.

Here´s an album full of misfits, oddities and rarities.  It could be quite interesting. I haven´t looked at this collection for a while.

Can we please have a look at them, daddy?  The stamp-collecting thing is so fascinating.

Well, I´m not too bothered about them to tell you the truth. I can´t see the fascination for collecting old pieces of paper. I´d sooner have a snooze I think.

Come on Mr Midnight. Shake a leg or two or three and try and show a bit of interest. You could learn something.

Alright then. Let´s have a butchers. Try and impress me if you can.

Here´s a stamp from the American / British Zone of Germany from 1 September, 1946.  It has the catalogue number 90 and has been perforated twice.

       What´s perforated daddy?

It´s the way a postage stamp has been cut out. The teeth of the stamp above have been cut twice.

What a silly thing to do.

But it looks funny, doesn´t it.

And look at this one. This stamp is from 26th June 1943 and has the catalogue number 851.  It doesn´t have any perforations; er sorry Mr Midnight, it has no teeth.

That´s weird, isn´t it. Fancy having a postage stamp with no teeth.

I´m quite fond of these two stamps because they have the “cent” number missing and part of the text on the left-hand side. Obviously, the ink ran out. The first stamp is what the stamp should look like.

They really are beauties, aren´t they. They´re not perfect but very special.

Next up is the 1999 Block from Germany. It has been cut wrong and is quite unique. I had a bit of luck getting hold of this block at an auction.

       It´s very irregular.

Fancy sticking that thing on your envelope. You´d be the laughing stock.

I think that´s enough rare stamps for today don´t you?  I´ll just show you one of my personal favourites. The Otto Dix Stamp catalogued Mi.Nr 1572 (VZ). The original is on the left and I think you can spot the mistake on this stamp.

The poor lady has lost her head. Oh dear.

Why do you like misprints and errors? They´re all so very odd.

Perhaps because in a way, I find them very appealing. They are all different from how they should appear and in that sense, original and individual. People don´t seem to like things that appear odd but I believe that if one is a true individual,  one may find it a bit harder to get through life but at the end of the day, one is a lot more satisfied and can enjoy life that much easier.

I find it a shame that many seem to abide by what the masses dictate and then they wonder why they are not happy in life.

We should all have the same basic rights but contrary to what our Governments inform us, we are still, all individuals with differing views, needs and requirements.

So you humans would sooner be like us cats?  We love our freedom!

In a way, I suppose you could be right Mr Midnight. Not all humans will want to live in true freedom because true freedom can be quite hard work. Self-responsibility is not everybody´s cup of tea but if one is a liberal being, one will respect that fact.

Well, self-responsibility, freedom or whatever. I found daddy´s little postage stamp excursion quite interesting. I just hope he hasn´t bored too many of our readers this time around!

Why are we here?

DSCN0663       Why are we here Sir Winston?

DSCN0664       I´m not 100% certain Mr Midnight but I do know that we´re supposed to explore and have fun.

DSCN0667       Didn´t we do that the last time around?  I sometimes have deja-vu moments flashing through my soul.

DSCN0652       I´m sure we did but we can´t really remember, can we. I think our soul has experienced so many things in the past that each time it commences another lifetime it adds knowledge and experience to its development.

DSCN0669       So when I play with my little toy mouse in our green kingdom I am in actual fact, obtaining experience for my future development.

DSCN0674       I don´t know if you can call playing with toy mice creating your soul’s experience but it will certainly add to your well-being Mr Midnight. I believe that playing and not taking life too seriously is all part and parcel of maintaining healthy conditioning for life’s future knocks.

DSCN0658       Perhaps life’s knocks are there to test us, Sir Winston. You know, something like an examination to see if we´re still in contact with ourselves.  If we pass the test then we are able to move on.

DSCN0636       And if we fail the examination and we have understood where we went wrong then we have gained experience in later trials.

Perhaps that is the reason why we are on the planet.  To gain experience.

I´m glad my soul chose to be a cat this time around.  I love lolling about, eating and playing in the green kingdom.

What a life!

DSCN0672       Yes, it´s great being a cat isn´t it and not every soul can be a cat, can they!

I am very thankful for my time on the planet this time around.

We do indeed live a great life full of excitement, discovery and wonder.

Be yourself!

Sitting on top of the boulders which overlooked our house was the perfect place to be for Mr Midnight and Sir Winston, especially on warm, sunny days.

It´s kind of nice that the weather angels have made an effort today and warmed up our favourite sitting place.

I´m most grateful. It´s a wonderful view from up here and it´s even more special when the weather angels are in a good mood.

Look who´s leaving our neighbours house.  Mr Dog is taking his human for a walk again.

I think it´s the other way around Mr Midnight. Doggies love obeying human beings and they often copy  their masters actions.

But I was under the strong impression that human beings loved copying one another. Surely Mr Dog hasn´t fallen so low as to blindly follow instruction from the humans. I must be very naive because I believed it to be the other way around.

Doggies can´t help it Mr Midnight. They wish to be loved properly and will do almost anything to please their masters.

I think he´s a happy dog though.

Well thank goodness I´m a cat!

I´m not having any of that “blind obedience” stuff. Surely souls are supposed to go through life with their own free will. That´s what my cat intuition informs me.

Which is probably why so many people dislike cats Mr Midnight.

Although lots of human beings adore us,  many seem to dislike us.

I thought those who dislike cats were simply afraid of us.

Oh no no. I don´t think that´s right Mr M.

I believe it has more to do with the fact that some human beings need to have control over other souls and because it is not in our cat nature to be as obedient as Mr Dog next door, they find our behaviour unnerving.

But they could learn a thing or two from us cats couldn´t they.

How about trying to learn to let go of things and to go with the flow of life.  That would be a great start.

They either don´t want to let go of things, much preferring to adhere to their past patterns and habits, or they simply cannot let go because of being afraid to do so.

Of course, most human beings would never admit to such a possibility.

Well as long as everybody is happy about being controlled by others it´s fine by me.

As for myself, I´m really thankful that I´m a cat and that I understand the true meaning of the word “freedom”.

I suspect that if being truthful, many human beings are not happy with their current situations but the road to true freedom is a long one. Thank goodness at least some are on their way.

Well `m going to have a little nap now on these wonderful heated boulders. They are really good for preventing  sciatica problems.

I´ll keep you company if you don´t mind. 🙂

Is Your Health Really Important?

The sun was shining and a cool, light westerly breeze stroked the fur of Mr Midnight and Sir Winston as they sat atop the boulders overlooking their kingdom. They often sat upon the boulders when they were in a philosophising mood and today, was one of those days.

(The patch of green Mr Midnight and Sir Winston adore.)

As usual Sir Winston, I can´t make head nor tail of the human psyche.  They are a baffling lot aren´t they.

What are you going on about Mr Midnight?  I must admit, human behaviour is sometimes difficult to get to grips with but I suppose it´s no different than a human trying to fathom out a cats behaviour.

You´re probably correct in your assumption Sir W. but at least we cats do not say things that aren´t true.  We are always true to ourselves and never claim things that are simply not true.

I don´t know what you´re waffling on about Mr Midnight so perhaps you can lend me a paw to understand.

Well, I´ve noticed that among other things, human beings often claim that their health is one the most important things in their lives.

       And what´s wrong with that?

The claim´s not true is it.

I think many must have a dose of that illness that creates fake activity – fake news I think they call it. Faking appears to be the sign-of-the-times.

Can you elaborate a little please?

How can human´s claim that their health is so important while at the same time, they seem to do very little for their health?

They must believe that one becomes ill just out of the blue and that they themselves, have nothing to do with their illness.

I believe that is indeed, the assumption of many human beings.  I feel sorry for them in a way.

He could be wrong, but I`ve heard from Vladimir the Russian Blue pussycat from down the road that human beings are often unconcious of how they treat their bodies.

For example, they seem to always be attached to their mobile gadgets . . . .

. . .  sorry for interrupting but I think they need the gadgets in which to get through life. The things appear to be very addictive – even life-saving.

There could be some truth to what you say Sir W.

Human beings will sadly, often eat their meals in a most unhealthy manner and I´ve heard from Mr Dog next door that their food quality is also not what it should be or what is suggested on the labels of their food.

From my observations, the majority appear to ignore the fact that modern human lifestyles destroy our environment. Human beings often don´t drink enough fluids.  They don´t move about very much, apart from when wheels of some description are underneath their person and they frequently abuse their bodies by denying themselves enough quality sleep.

Quality sleep is something the humans could learn from us pussycats.

Sleeping allows our bodies to recharge for the next day. Without a recharge our energies eventually become exhausted.  That´s when problems start to occur.

One has to feel sorry for the humans doesn´t one.

And that´s why I find their claim about their health being important to be somewhat bizarre.

If a person cannot take time to care for themself properly then who is going to look after them?

The human beings are certainly a baffling species sometimes.

I´m sure they´ll get the hang of how to go through life smoothly eventually.  They just need a little more practice that´s all.

Perhaps the human beings should try to love themselves a little more and then some of their illnesses would perhaps, disappear.

Love is certainly good medicine Mr Midnight.

We both wish you human beings all the very best on your journey of discovery and hope that some of you discover the secret to staying nice and healthy.  It really is up to you which way you decide to go.

Love from Mr Midnight and Sir Winston.  xxx
